Tesco Bank bring huge jobs boost to Newcastle East9.45.00am GMT Wed 28th Oct 2009
Newcastle East Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesman Greg Stone has welcomed investment by Tesco Bank in a new customer services centre at Longbenton, creating an estimated 1000 new jobs administering the company's insurance products. Greg said "These new jobs will be based just over the constituency boundary at the Quorum business park but will clearly create significant new employment opportunities for Newcastle East constituents, many of whom were affected by financial service sector layoffs at Northern Rock. It is a significant boost to the region's economy and shows the importance of effective regional support for inward investment from One North East and of a well-qualified local workforce."
